One less thing to worry about

It’s a simple and affordable way to provide some extra cash when an insured family member dies. That can be really helpful at a difficult time, whether it’s covering funeral costs, settling outstanding bills or simply leaving a small legacy.

 

Insure up to a dozen

A maximum of 12 people can be insured on one policy. You can cover yourself, and for an additional premium, you can add your partner, your parents, your partner’s parents or your children. Children are free until their 18th birthday.

 

Help, when it’s needed most

On the death of an insured family member, the FamilyLIFE+ policy pays out a fixed cash sum. The policy remains in force while any insured family member is still alive, as long as premium payments are up to date.*

 

Accessible, simple, affordable

  • FamilyLIFE+ is available for anyone over the age of 18 who is resident in the UK. And there are no medical questions to answer, unless you’re aged 70 or over.
  • Choose from four different levels of cover: £2,000, £3,000, £4,000 or £6,000 - depending on your needs and your budget.
  • Decide who you want to cover. Children are free until their 18th birthday and you can add more family members at any time.
  • Apply online. It’s a simple five-step process. Or ring our UK call centre on 0845 121 2416 and they’ll talk you through it.
  • Pay the same monthly premium, via direct debit, for the rest of your life. The premium rate will only change if your policy is materially affected by changes in legislation or taxation.

 

A few things to bear in mind

Before taking out FamilyLIFE+ cover, read the Policy Summary HERE  to make sure it suits your needs. You can do that online or ask at your Credit Union counter.

 

A six month waiting period applies once you have taken out a policy but individuals are still covered for death by accident during that time.

The benefit you choose is fixed. Just remember that, with inflation, it’s unlikely to be worth quite so much when it comes to claim.

In some circumstances, the premiums paid could add up to more than the cash benefit paid out.

Premium payments must be kept up to date or the policy is no longer valid. The plan has no cash-in value.
